FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY MORN The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Central Kansas, South
Central Kansas, and Southeast Kansas, including the following
areas, in Central Kansas, Chase, Marion, McPherson, and
Saline. In South Central Kansas, Butler, Cowley, Harvey,
Sedgwick, and Sumner. In Southeast Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua,
Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson, and
Woodson.
* From 8 PM CDT this evening through Thursday morning.
* Expected thunderstorm development with long lived very heavy
rain during the evening and overnight hours.
* In addition to the normal low lying areas that tend to flood,
other roads and highways will be at risk of rapidly rising
water. This rising water could be fast moving and have the
potential to sweep vehicles off the road with little or no
warning.ING.

A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Remember to turn around, don't drown. You should monitor later
forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood
