ARMED ROBBERY UPDATE: Suspect identified & arrested after evidence ties him to the crime

On August 20, 2019, Middleton Police identified a suspect in this armed robbery after physical evidence left at the scene had been tested.  On this same date, Middleton Police, with the assistance of the Madison Police Department arrested 60 year old Chris A. Hines of Middleton. Hines admitted to detectives that he had committed this robbery.

Hines was booked into Dane County Jail on a charge of Armed Robbery and a Probation Violation.

On Thursday, August 8, 2019, at approximately 3:35pm, the Middleton Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery which had just occurred at Today’s Trends Salon, 6670 University Avenue in the City of Middleton.

Witnesses described the suspect as a white male with a thin build, stubbly gray facial hair wearing a gray tank top, black athletic shorts and a blue bandana on his forehead. The suspect is missing a lower left tooth.

The suspect implied he was in possession of a firearm and obtained an undisclosed amount of money. He left the area in a green hatchback vehicle which was parked near the business on Mayflower Drive.
