Vehicle Pursuit and Traffic Collision, Case #19-11056

On August 17, 2019, at approximately 9:28 p.m., a Santa Rosa Police Officer was patrolling the area Sebastopol Road and McMinn Avenue when he attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop of a motorcyclist for reckless driving.  The motorcyclist failed to yield and drove through a nearby gas station where he collided with another vehicle.
The motorcyclist fled the scene of the collision and the officer pursued the vehicle northbound on Stony Point Road. The motorcyclist lost control and collided with the center median on Stony Point Road, south of West College Avenue.
The motorcyclist suffered serious but non-life threating injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Following the collision, it was determined that the motorcycle was reported stolen from a victim in Santa Rosa, in March 2019.
The motorcyclist was identified Moses Fuentes, a 34-year-old Santa Rosa resident. He was arrested and charged with the following crimes:

496d(a)PC - Felony possession of a stolen vehicle
666.5(a) PC – Vehicle theft with prior vehicle theft conviction
2800.2(a) VC - Felony evading
23103(a) VC – Reckless driving
14601.2(a) – Driving on a suspended license
20002(a) VC – Hit and run
3455 PC – Violation of Post Release Community Supervision
