On 08-15-19 at about 7:15pm a citizen called Rock County Dispatch to report a suspicious person complaint. The citizen observed a male driver switching license plates of a vehicle in the parking lot of a business. The citizen continued to observe the male as he drove into a different business parking lot and had removed the license plates of the same vehicle. The citizen provided officers a description of the driver and suspect vehicle.

Officer Severson and K9 Fred located the suspect vehicle traveling southbound on Hwy 51 near Black Bridge Road. Officer Severson initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle fled. The vehicle continued southbound on Parker Court where the driver of the vehicle fled on foot. Officer Severson saw the driver run southwest from the vehicle towards a residence. Officer Severson deployed K9 Fred during the foot pursuit after the driver failed to surrender. K9 Fred apprehended the driver after a short foot chase. The driver of the vehicle was later identified as Alexander Schenck. Schenck was later transported to an area hospital for injuries as a result of the K9 apprehension.
