All consumer fireworks are illegal in Contra Costa County. A violation of this law is a misdemeanor and fireworks are subject to confiscation. Homemade fireworks are also illegal.
July 4 is one of the busiest days of the year for firefighters with fireworks accounting for half of all fires.
A fireworks show will be conducted by the City of Pleasant Hill on July 4 after nightfall in the area of College Park High School. The show is also visible from Dinosaur Hill Park as an alternate viewing area. Fireworks shows will also be held in other local cities.
