Heat Advisory until 07:00PM Tuesday

The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a Heat Advisory, which is in effect until 7 PM CDT Tuesday.

* HEAT INDEX VALUES...108 to 110 degrees with isolated locations up to 112 degrees.

* IMPACTS...Without proper precautions the heat and humidity may cause heat related illnesses, including heat exhaustion and heat stroke, during outdoor exertion or extended exposure.

* AFFECTED AREAS: MAVERICK ... ZAVALA ... DIMMIT ... UVALDE

Instructions:

A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of water...stay in an air-conditioned room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and neighbors. When possible...reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in parked vehicles under any circumstances. This is especially true during warm or hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
