| McLeansboro, Illinois – Keith Roberts, P.E., Acting Region Five Engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation announces that there will be a road closure at the railroad crossing on IL 142 approximately 3.0 miles north and west of the IL 142/IL 242 intersection. Crews representing the Evansville Western Railway (EVWR) will be performing repairs on the railroad crossing on IL 142 beginning Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at 8:00 a.m. and concluding on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. There will be no traffic permitted through the crossing during the repairs. To avoid the work area, please follow the marked detour. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
