News Release: Suspect Arrested for Peeping and Lewd Conduct at Apartment Complex

Police took a male suspect into custody Wednesday, August 7, for peeping and prowling and lewd conduct at an apartment complex. On Friday, July 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a report that a male suspect had been prowling in the 600 block of Los Robles Avenue. The investigation revealed that a male suspect had been peeping into the windows at an apartment complex in the overnight hours. The suspect focused on windows occupied by families where young girls lived. Surveillance video showed the suspect engaging in this behavior more than a dozen times between July 15 and August 7. On at least one occasion, the suspect masturbated as he was peeping. Following the investigation, officers secured a probable cause arrest warrant for the suspect who was identified as 43-year-old Michael Fields of Fremont. Fields had previously resided at the complex. Fields was arrested on Wednesday, August 7. He faces charges for lewd conduct in a public place and peeping and prowling (all misdemeanors). He was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail. His booking photo is attached to this news release (note: the booking photo has been removed pursuant to AB994 as of December 2023).
