Emergency service agencies, local law enforcement and Henderson County Public Schools will be conducting an Active Assailant Exercise on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at East Henderson High School.

Coordinated through a grant secured in December 2018 by Henderson County Emergency Services, this exercise is a simulated event to practice and debrief a community response to such an event.  Participants include Henderson County EMS, Henderson County Public Schools leadership/staff, the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, Hendersonville Police Department, Blue Ridge Community College Police, Fletcher Police Department, Laurel Park Police Department, area Fire Departments, Henderson County Rescue Squad, the 911 Center, and area hospitals.

With a shared focus on improved communication and coordination, each partner agency involved seeks to best prepare and ensure for the safety of Henderson County citizens.
