#PomonaPD Recovers Stolen Firearms, Methamphetamine, and More from Local Area Mechanic Shop
This afternoon the Pomona Police Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF) with the assistance of the east region Taskforce for Regional Autotheft Prevention (TRAP) team, responded to the 3700 block of E. Grand Ave., in the City of Chino to conduct a business check of an auto mechanic shop.
Upon arrival, officers contacted the business owner, 42 year-old Juan Manual Moreno Valdez. Moreno gave consent and signed a search waiver for the business and property to be searched. During the search, officers located two unregistered firearms, one of which returned stolen. In addition, various ammunition, methamphetamine, and approximately 100 hydrocodone pills, believed to be for the purpose of sales, were recovered from the business.
Moreno was arrested for 11370.1 H&S sales while armed, 496(a)PC possession of stolen property, 11350 H&S possession of a controlled substance, and 25950(c)(2)PC possession of stolen, loaded firearm. The suspect was transported and booked into the West Valley Detention Center.
