National Night Out Tomorrow; Alert San Diego Attending

The Chula Vista Police Department will be hosting their annual National Night Out tomorrow, August 6, from 4 to 8 p.m.at the PD headquarters, 315 Fourth Avenue. This is a great opportunity to meet your local officers, including SWAT and K-9. The family friendly event includes demonstrations, tours of the facility, vendor booths and much more.

Also participating this year will be AlertSanDiego. AlertSanDiego is a regional mass notification system that can send telephone notifications to residents and businesses who may be endangered or impacted by an emergency or disaster within San Diego County. The system is used to provide information about emergencies and any necessary protective actions the public should take, such as evacuate or shelter in place. AlertSanDiego will notify residences and businesses within a targeted area ONLY if they are signed up to receive these emergency alerts. All landline phones are already included in the system.

However, if you wish to receive notifications on your Voice over IP or cellular phone, you will need to register those numbers with your home/business address. AlertSanDiego is also capable of sending text and email notifications.

Stop by the AlertSanDiego booth tomorrow at National Night Out or register online at https://www.readysandiego.org/alertsandiego/.
