The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a
* Flood Advisory for... Northeastern Blount County in central Alabama... Northwestern Etowah County in northeastern Alabama...
* Until 1045 PM CDT.
* At 840 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Altoona, Snead, Susan Moore, Walnut Grove and McLarty.
* AFFECTED AREAS: ETOWAH, AL ... BLOUNT, AL
Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
