ARREST PRESS RELEASE
Tuesday, 07/30/2019, the Bedford Police Department investigated a complaint from the parent of a 15 year old juvenile. The complaint alleged that her child purchased “Juul” mint nicotine and a package of CBD edibles from “The Vape and Smoke Shop,” located at 742 Bedford Road, Bedford Hills.
Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of 36 year old business owner Chuan Lin of Lake Hiawatha, NJ. He was arrested at his above mentioned place of business and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor. He was arraigned at the Town of Bedford Justice Court and released on his own recognizance.
This is the second time in as many months that individuals at this establishment have sold tobacco and related products to minors. Last month one of Lin’s employees sold tobacco products to a 17 year old.
The NYS Department of Health will be following up on this latest incident.
