Morristown Police advise that Martin Luther King Avenue remains closed between Abbett Avenue and Spring Street due to a downed utility pole that resulted from a car crash earlier this morning. JCP&L crews are on the scene and beginning the process of repairing the damage however the roadway will have to remain closed until those repairs can be completed. In addition, JCP&L are advising that periodic power outages are expected as they will have to temporarily shut off power to make the necessary repairs.

Detours are in place and police officers are on scene to assist with traffic however, extended delays and heavy traffic are possible. Motorists should avoid the area, plan an alternate route, or allow extra travel time if transiting through this area.
