National Night Out is next Tuesday

National Night Out is next Tuesday, August 06, at the Palmyra Middle School, from 5pm-8pm!

We are excited about the changes coming to this year’s event. The Palmyra Area School District has partnered with the North Londonderry Police, South Londonderry Police, Palmyra Police, and the Palmyra Fire Company to host National Night Out 2019. We’ll be posting information throughout the week and providing updates for any last-minute changes. The information will also be included on our website. All of the named agencies will be represented, giving residents time to talk with the first responders that serve their community.

So, what are some of the things you can you expect at this year’s NNO? The stadium will have 66 sites around the track. The Football and Band Boosters will be selling food from the concession stand, just like a Friday night. There will also be Farmshow Milkshakes for sale! Palmyra High Student Jake Nguyen will be providing music, with an appearance from the Palmyra High School Band. There will be a kid’s “Candy Scramble” at 6pm in the Stadium. Walnut Street will be closed to vehicle traffic starting at 3pm, with a Rock Climbing Wall and other attractions. The Fire Company will be open and have sites at the building, with more activities including Bounce Houses, an Inflatable Slide, and an Obstacle Course in between the Stadium and Fire Company. PREVAIL Volleyball will have several nets set up in the practice field, including a chance to win T-shirts. There will be a lot to see, and a lot to do. This is meant to be a fun, interactive community event that also allows the emergency responders to strengthen relationships with the people they serve.

Attendance is free. Parking will be available at the School, Rothermel Funeral Home, Trinity UCC, and Pine Street Elementary. Additional parking will be like a Friday night football game, using side streets. If you or your organization wish to participate and haven’t signed up, there are still a few spots available. You can contact or, or call (717)838-1376 for more information.
