As we head into the weekend, we want to remind you all that we are expecting a heat event over the next two days. With temperatures Saturday and Sunday expected to exceed 100 degrees, the National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning that begins at 11:00 am Saturday and lasts until 11:00 pm Sunday evening.

Safety Tips for Hot Weather:

* Limit strenuous outdoor activity
* Stay hydrated
* If you or someone you know is exhibiting signs of heat stroke/exhaustion, take immediate action to cool them down.
* Wear light clothing and sunscreen
* Check on family members and neighbors
* NEVER leave children or pets in a closed car
* If you don't have air conditioning, seek out public buildings with a/c, such as the Danville Library

Because of the heat and lack of air motion, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District has issued Spare the Air Alerts for Friday - Sunday.

During a Spare the Air Alert:

* Restrict or avoid using gas-powered devices
* Limit strenuous outdoor activity
* Refrain from any outdoor burning
* Carpool when possible
