Crime Alert Bulletin

When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.

Notable Cases

On Monday, 07-15-19 at 3:59 p.m., Officer Jackson-Berrios and Officer Maddison were dispatched to the Westlake Shopping Center parking garage on Lake Merced Boulevard on a report of a subject threatening to hit security officers with a skateboard. The officers arrived to find two security officers holding a subject against a wall. One security guard said the subject was known to them and that he is a constant issue as he antagonizes the security officers by skateboarding and smoking marijuana on the property. One security guard said they told the subject they were going to call the police, and the subject picked up his skateboard and swung it at the security guard. The security guard was able to get out of the way, but he suffered from two lacerations on his knuckle while attempting to detain the suspect. The suspect, a 25-year old Daly City resident, was subsequently arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, trespassing, possession of suspected methamphetamine and for possession of illegal paraphernalia.

On Friday, 07-19-19 at 1:56 a.m., Officer Moody and Officer Tualaulelei were dispatched to the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant on a report of a verbal altercation between two males in their 20’s. Officer Tualaulelei spotted a subject walking from the restaurant. The subject saw the officer and jogged for a few steps but stopped. The subject emitted an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person, and the officer asked him to sit on the curb. The subject said nothing had happened, and that it was a disagreement between him and a friend. The subject kept repeating that nothing happened, and the officer asked him for his identification. The subject reached for his pocket but didn’t pull out his identification. The subject then stood up and away from the officer, but the officer was able to catch up with him. Officer Moody arrived on the scene to assist. They arrested the subject, a 33-year old San Bruno resident, for obstructing and resisting a police officer.

On Friday, 07-19-19 at 2:06 p.m., Officer Chittenden conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle that had turned into the Serramonte Shopping Center from Serramonte Boulevard. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access to a neighborhood if they don’t live there.
