SED located and arrested Jonathan Padilla in Los Angeles; he was booked at Central Detention Center for murder

UPDATE:
On Tuesday, July 23, 2019, the Specialized Enforcement Division located Jonathan Padilla at a home in Los Angeles and arrested him without incident. Padilla was booked at Central Detention Center for Murder and bail was set at $1,000,000. He is expected to be arraigned on Friday, July 26, 2019.

SUMMARY:
On July 22, 2019 at 9:37 p.m. deputies were called to a neighborhood near Mira Vista Ave. and Baseline Street reference a suspicious circumstance call. The resident said he was leaving his home on Mira Vista Ave. when a man came out of the nearby wash area and asked him for a ride to San Bernardino. The resident gave the man a ride and saw what appeared to be blood on his clothing and other evidence indicating a serious assault occurred. When the resident returned home, they notified police. Deputies searched the wash area adjacent to the neighborhood and located a victim suffering from stab wounds. Medical aid responded, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Homicide Detectives responded to conduct the investigation.
Detectives determined Jonathan Padilla stabbed the victim, for an unknown reason, then ran to a nearby home where he asked for a ride out of the area. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Padilla and the Specialized Enforcement Division (SED) is searching for him.
