Storm Related Message

The storm that passed through our region last night resulted in 250,000 power outages in Monmouth County. Currently, they are 1,104 residents in Aberdeen Township without power. Jersey Central Power & Light crews are responding to downed wire calls and assessing the damage throughout the region. This process will be extensive, and outages may be extended. JCP&L is currently unable to provide an estimated time of repair. As they assess the damage, they will be better able provide a more accurate time of restoration.
Please continue to treat all downed wires as if they are live electrical lines and stay away.Any downed wires or questions regarding when your power will be restored should be direct to JCP&L at 1-888-544-4877.
The Aberdeen Township Municipal Building located at 1 Aberdeen Square, is open as a cooling/charging station. Anyone in need of a cooling or charging station is asked to contact the Aberdeen Police Department at 732-566-2054 for assistance.
Aberdeen Township Public Works Department will begin picking up brush and branches tomorrow, Wednesday, July 24th. If you have brush or branches to be picked up as result of the storm, please call at 732-583-4200 ext. 100 and leave your name and address to be added to the pickup list. All storm related brush and branches must be placed at curbside no later than Monday, July 29, 2019 at 7:00 am.
