Incident Summary:

On Saturday, July 20, 2019 at approximately 8:10 am officers were dispatched to the area of B Street and Pearce Street on a report of a vehicle collision.  Officers arrived and discovered a vehicle had been traveling westbound on B Street, struck a vehicle which was parked on the north curbline of B Street facing eastbound.  The collision forced the vehicles partially onto the sidewalk, striking a pedestrian who had been attempting to cross the street. 

The pedestrian was an 81-year-old female Petaluma resident.  She sustained major injuries and was transported from the scene to Memorial Hospital in Santa Rosa by the Petaluma Fire Department.

The driver, Monique Grace Tremblay, displayed objective signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming alcohol the night prior.  Tremblay’s blood alcohol content was measured at .173%. Officers searched Tremblay’s vehicle and located a small amount of suspected cocaine.  Tremblay was placed under arrest for 23153(F); Driving Under the Influence of a Combination of Drugs and Alcohol and Causing Injury and 11350 (A) HS; Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Tremblay sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision and was taken to Petaluma Valley Hospital for medical clearance prior to being booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
