Cooling centers open 
The borough of Carlstadt Office of Emergency Management has open to cooling centers. The first is at the cross at Boro Hall on Madison Street. The second is at the Civic Center on 4th Street. Any residents in need may use the shelters. Pets are allowed at the Civic Center, as long as they are kept controlled. This means they must be leashed or created or caged.
