Advisory

Dangerous heat wave. NWS has issued a Heat ADVISORY for our area.

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat ADVISORY for our area. A heat advisory has been issued until  7 PM FRIDAY.  Temps will reach the middle to upper 90’s on Friday with a heat index value of 105 to 110.
Take extra precautions if you are outside. Children, elderly and pets are especially vulnerable. Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Drink plenty of fluids.

In these conditions, PETS should NEVER be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. The hot weather will cause the interior of a vehicle to reach lethal temperatures in minutes.

A heightened risk of heat-related illness is possible, especially for those working outdoors or those without air conditioning.  People on certain medications will be more susceptible to the heat and should take extra precautions to remain cool;

  • Stay out of the sun
  • Drink plenty of fluids
  • Schedule frequent rest breaks in the shade
 Please check up on friends, relatives and neighbors who may be isolated to be sure they are not showing signs of heat-related illnesses.
