Just The Facts
I am shedding some light to a call the Oak Ridge North Police Department received. Earlier this morning the Oak Ridge North Police Department responded to a suspicious person call from a resident who called another resident and asked that person to call the police. Officers located the person who had no form of ID and no ties to Oak Ridge North. The person did have two outstanding warrants for his arrest out of two states. Neither state would confirm the warrants. Also, as it turns out the person was homeless and just wandering around. We understand there is no law against wandering around. However if a resident calls and reports a suspicious person or persons the police department will respond as we would any other call. The officer gave the person a ride to the McDonalds at Hwy 242 and IH-45, where the officer bought the person a breakfast since the person claimed to be hungry and had not eaten in quite some time.
My purpose in this post is to remind residents that the Police Department does not respond to calls, complaints, questions or concerns via social media. If any resident has questions, comments, complaints or concerns about any matter that is not of a confidential matter, please feel free to call the Police Department at (281)292-4642 or (281)292-4762, or you may email me at [email protected] or [email protected].
