Potential Hazards and Impacts:

Flash Flooding Threat Late Wednesday into Early Thursday:

Hazards:
• A basin average rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected Wednesday Afternoon into Thursday Night.
• Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches/hr are possible with thunderstorms.
Impacts:
• Areas of urban and poor drainage flooding are likely.
• There is a localized flash flood threat, where slow moving or multiple thunderstorms move over the same area.
o Minor flooding along quick responding rivers/streams is possible.
The Weather Prediction Center has the area under a Slight Risk for Flash Flooding late Wednesday into early Thursday.

Excessive Heat Likely Friday through the Weekend:

• Maximum Temperatures and Heat Indices:
• On Friday, Max Temperatures of around 90-95 F, Heat Indices of around 95-100 F. Highest values in NYC and metropolitan Northeast NJ.
• On Saturday, Max Temperatures of around 95-100 F, Heat Indices of around 105-110 F. Highest values in NYC and metropolitan Northeast NJ.
• On Sunday, Max Temperatures of around 95-100 F, Heat Indices of around 100-105 F. Highest values in NYC and metropolitan Northeast NJ.
• Minimum Temperatures:
• For Friday night, Min Temperatures mostly in low to upper 70s. Upper 70s for NYC and metropolitan Northeast NJ.
• For Saturday night Min Temperatures mostly in the mid 70s to around 80. Around 80 for NYC and metropolitan Northeast NJ.
• For Sunday night Min Temperatures mostly in the low to upper 70s. Upper 70s for NYC and metropolitan Northeast NJ.
Impacts:
• The heat and humidity may cause heat stress during outdoor exertion or extended exposure.
• Extreme heat can cause illness and death among the at-risk population who can not stay cool.
• Seniors, infants, and those with chronic health problems or mental health conditions are at an increased risk from the heat.
