Granite Springs Rd is closed between Rt 202 and Hickory St for multiple wires down. No estimated time for road reopening as of yet.  Please avoid the area and use alternate routes.  While multiple phone and cable lines are down, only one utility pole was downed.  There are no reported power outages.  Phone lines, television and internet access are limited in the surrounding area.

The Town of Yorktown Police Department has 911 capability and has one phone line open at 962-4141.  We will need to keep non emergency calls brief.  We will update with more information as it becomes available.  All downed lines should be treated as energized.  Electrical current from downed lines can energize fixed objects like guardrails and street signs for several miles.
