Negligent discharge of a firearm

On July 14, 2019, at approximately 4:58 PM, the Menlo Park Police Department received a 911 call regarding a verbal altercation between the occupants of an unknown model black sedan and a gray Lexus SUV near the intersection of Hamilton Avenue and Market Place.

During the interaction, an unknown subject fired one round from a firearm in an unknown direction from the black sedan. The involved vehicles then fled the scene in unknown directions.

There were no additional witnesses, and officers located one expended shell casing at the scene. There were no injured persons located and no subsequent reported injuries.

Officers subsequently located the gray Lexus SUV, and the occupants claimed to have no knowledge of the incident.

The Menlo Park Police Department Investigations Unit is currently investigating this incident and is asking anyone who might have information regarding this case and/or who witnessed this incident, to call the Police Department at 650-330-6300 or the Anonymous Tip Hotline at 650-330-6395.
