In addition to rain that feel Sunday, extended periods of moderate rainfall will present an elevated risk of flash flooding that will persist into Tuesday. The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for
* Portions of North Mississippi and West Tennessee, including the following areas, in North Mississippi, Alcorn, Itawamba, Lee, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo, and Union. In West Tennessee, Hardin.
* Through Tuesday morning.
* 1 to 2 inches of rainfall, with localized 4 inch amounts.
* Flash flooding could lead to live threatening situations for motorists and individuals exposed to low lying areas or rapidly rising creeks and rivers.
* AFFECTED AREAS: HARDIN ... TIPPAH ... ITAWAMBA ... PRENTISS ... ALCORN ... LEE ... TISHOMINGO ... UNION
