Registration for the 2019 Red, White and Bang Kids Triathlon is Now Open!!

Labor Day, September 2, 2019, will be the date for the 10th Annual Red, White and Bang Kids Triathlon.  This is a great way to spend the last summer weekend with your family.  Have fun and help support the 2020 Lawrence Township Fireworks Celebration.  For additional details, see the flyer.  To register for the race click here for the form.




 
Triathlon Training Program - If you are looking to improve your times or prep yourself for the race please sign up for our Triathlon Training Program.  This four week (8 sessions) clinic beginning 7/15, will provide participants with the knowledge, confidence and ability to successfully compete in and complete a Triathlon. Experienced instructors will focus on all aspects of the event, covering specifics of Swim, Bike, Run & Transition.

Mosquito Spraying:  Mercer County will be spraying for mosquitoes on July 13 between 12:00 midnight and sunrise. Click here to go to the Mercer County website to find out what areas are being treated and for additional information regarding the spraying.



 
 
Smoke Alarms Available: The Lawrence Township Fire Marshal’s Office through the NJ Division of Fire Safety has Kidde 10-year smoke alarms. These alarms were donated by Kidde through the WABC Operation 7 Save-A-Life Program for distribution to New Jersey residents. These smoke alarms are available for distribution to residents living below the poverty level in the community. Route 206 Roadwork to Begin: We have been advised by NJDOT that the maintenance roadway repair project on 206 will begin shortly. Please see Notice to Residents.



 
Road Work - NJDOT has scheduled a repaving project on I295 from Route #1 in Lawrence Township to Highway 29 in Hamilton.  Lane shifts and closures will occur - please expect delays and always use caution in the construction areas.






Message from the Department of Public Works:

The Township recently revised the brush collection regulations effective January 1, 2019. (Ordinance No. 2307-18)
 

NEW YARD WASTE COLLECTION RULES

Brush will continue to be picked up according to the zone schedule. Please refer to the Zone Map below.

  • Brush should be placed at curbside no earlier than the weekend prior to the scheduled pickup week
  • Yard waste shall be placed along the front yard curb of the property which it has originated for collection.
  • Collection will be limited to brush and tree prunings.
  • Tree trunks and limbs in excess of 6 inch diameter will not be collected.
  • Limbs should be cut in lengths of 3 feet or less.
  • All limbs and brush should be placed at the curb in an orderly manner.
  • The size of the pile may not be larger than 3 feet high and must be placed not greater than 4 feet from the edge of the pavement. The pile shall not exceed 12 feet in length.
  • No wire, nails or metal should be left in the materials.
  • Diseased material and firewood will not be collected and disposed of by the Township. This material must be disposed of privately.
  • All tree stumps are the homeowner’s responsibility. The Township will not collect tree stumps.


BRUSH WILL NOT BE PICKED UP IF THE ABOVE RULES ARE NOT FOLLOWED.

All commercial landscapers shall be registered annually with the
Township of Lawrence by March 31st.

There is no brush collection during November and December, leaf collection only.

The week of July 15 is Zone 3.


If you have any yard waste, you may take it to the Ecological Facility on Princeton Pike between the hours of 7:30 am and 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday.  The Ecological Facility is now open on Saturdays.
