NWS-Flash Flood Watch-thunderstorms will increase,Excessive runoff could lead to flash flooding of urban and poor drainage areas.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for northeast New Jersey.

Showers and thunderstorms will increase in coverage late this afternoon into this evening, with the rain becoming heavy at times. Excessive runoff could lead to flash flooding of urban and poor drainage areas. Some fast responding small streams could approach or exceed bank full. While there is a Flash Flood Watch in effect for northeast New Jersey, isolated urban and poor drainage flooding cannot be ruled out elsewhere.

Instructions:

Avoid known poor drainage areas. Do Not drive through standing or pooling water... "TURN AROUND... DON'T DROWN"
