Funeral Services to be held for Fallen Deputy Omar Diaz 
Funeral services for fallen Harris County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Omar Diaz will be conducted on Thursday, July 11 at Champions Forest Baptist Church Jersey Village Campus (16518 Jersey Drive in Jersey Village).
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. and the funeral service begins at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home (6900 Lawndale).
Deputy Diaz, 39, died of natural causes while on duty on Saturday, July 6. He joined the Sheriff’s Office as a detention officer in 2009, and then graduated from the basic peace officer’s academy in 2018. He most recently served as a patrol deputy in the Crossroads Park subdivision. Deputy Diaz is survived by his wife and 7-year-old daughter.
