Flash Flood Watch until 07:00PM Thursday

Tropical moisture moving into the area in association with low pressure over the Gulf of Mexico will continue to bring rounds of showers and thunderstorms into the area. The watch may need to expanded in area and time as the situation develops. The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch FOR portions of southeast Louisiana and Mississippi, including the following areas, in southeast Louisiana, Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Livingston, Lower Jefferson, Lower Lafourche, Lower Plaquemines, Lower St. Bernard, Lower Terrebonne, Orleans, Southern Tangipahoa, St. Charles, St. James, St. John The Baptist, St. Tammany, Upper Jefferson, Upper Lafourche, Upper Plaquemines, Upper St. Bernard, Upper Terrebonne, and West Baton Rouge. In Mississippi, Hancock, Harrison, and Jackson.

* through Thursday evening

* Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible today with isolated higher amounts. Storm total rainfall amounts have the potential to be much higher through the weekend.

* Impacts include rapid rises on area small streams and creeks resulting in flooding on some rivers. Rapid ponding of water that may overwhelm local drainage capacities due to excessive rain rates.
