June 24

Vandalism – 3000 block of Carlson Boulevard:
At 9:12 am, an officer reports a group of unknown suspects jumped on the hood of two vehicles causing damage.

Hit-and-Run – 1700 block of Eastshore Blvd:
At 11:27 am, an officer reports a vehicle struck another vehicle on San Pablo Avenue and drove away. The vehicle hit a second vehicle on Eastshore Boulevard as it was fleeing the scene of the first collision.

Vandalism – 230 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 8:58 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect broke the window to the victim’s Mazda SUV. Two other vehicles were located nearby with broken windows but no loss was reported.

June 25

Auto Burglary – 800 blocks of Arlington Boulevard, Bates Avenue and 700 block of Gelston Place:
At 7:10 am, officers responded to the area for a report of several auto burglaries. Officers arrived on scene and located several burglarized vehicles. Several other cars which were left unlocked were also ransacked.

Grand Theft – 1500 block of S.56th St:
At 1:35 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect removed the catalytic converter from the victim’s vehicle.

Residential Burglary – 700 block of Pomona Avenue:
At 4:56 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s home by prying open a bedroom window. Once inside, the suspect ransacked two bedrooms and took property before leaving.

June 26

Grand Theft – 11000 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 8:47 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect removed the catalytic converter from the victim’s vehicle.

Auto Burglary – 500 block of Kearney St:
At 10:05 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered a window to the victim’s vehicle and removed a bag containing property. The suspect then used one of the victim’s debit cards at a nearby business.

Parole Violation and Possession of a Controlled Substance – 1700 block of Eastshore Blvd:
At 12:51 pm, an officer reports the arrest of a 39-year-old male for a parole violation warrant. During a search of the suspect, the officer located a usable amount of a controlled substance.

Grand Theft – 5800 block of El Dorado St:
At 2:05 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect took a handheld saw from a construction site while the workers were away at lunch. The saw was worth approximately $1100.

Shoplifting – El Cerrito Plaza:
At 2:14 pm, an officer reports two unknown suspects entered the store, forced open a liquor cabinet, and took several bottles of alcohol.

Grand Theft – 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2:52 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect removed the victim’s wallet from her purse while her back was turned. The suspects then used the cards at a business in a nearby city.

Shoplifting – 11500 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 4:57 pm, an officer reports the citizen’s arrest of a 41-year-old male for shoplifting. The male was issued a citation in the field and released.

Burglary & Stolen Vehicle – 1800 block of Key Blvd:
At 5:41 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered a home through an open front door. While inside the home, the suspect took several items of personal property which included the keys to a car parked in the driveway. The suspect then drove away in the victim’s vehicle. Early the following morning, Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Deputies located the vehicle and arrested a 26-year-old man for being in possession of the stolen vehicle. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility and the vehicle was released to the owner.

Drunk in Public – Fairmount Ave/ San Pablo Ave:
At 10:40 pm, an officer reports the arrest of a 43-year-old male who was found to be heavily intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

June 27

Recovered Stolen Vehicle – Don Carol and Villa Nueva Dr:
At 9:47 am, an officer located the victim’s vehicle unoccupied at the above location. The vehicle was reported stolen to another jurisdiction in March.

Commercial Burglary – 6400 block of Fairmount Ave:
At 10:56 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered a business and stole a laptop.

Auto Burglary – El Cerrito Plaza:
At 12:16 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered the front passenger window to the victim’s vehicle and removed a backpack.

Auto Burglary – 11500 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 12:25 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered the rear window to the victim’s vehicle and stole luggage.

Petty theft from vehicle – 1500 block of Lexington Avenue:
At 1:11 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect removed the catalytic converter from the victim’s vehicle.

Auto Burglary – 800 block of Geltson place:
At 3:20 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered the victim’s front passenger window, ransacked the interior, and stole property.

June 30th

Attempt Residential Burglary, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Probation Violation – 3300 block of Carlson Blvd.
At 8:40 am, a subject kicked open the front door to a residence and fled when the homeowner and his family began screaming. A 35-year-old transient was detained at the El Cerrito Plaza BART station. The victim positively identified male, and placed him under citizen’s arrest. The male was in possession of a meth pipe and was on felony probation for assault with a deadly weapon. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Intoxicated while in Public and Probation Violation – (Trader Joe’s parking lot) 225 El Cerrito Plaza
At 10:58 am, officers responded to several reports of a shirtless male in the parking lot attempting to open car doors. While officers were en route, citizens reported the male was yelling, and punching car windows. Officers contacted a 34-year-old homeless male, yelling at an unoccupied parked car. The male was arrested for being intoxicated in public then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

July 1st

Domestic Battery, False Imprisonment, Grand Theft, and Obstruct the Use of a Wireless Device – 1300 block of Brewster Dr.
At 7:25 am, the victim reported that she and her boyfriend, a 34-year-old male from Vacaville, got into a verbal argument last night. During the argument the victim tried to leave the residence, but the suspect pushed her away from the door. The victim attempted to call 911 on her cell phone, but the suspect took her phone away. This morning the suspect struck the victim in the face, took the victim’s purse, and fled the residence.

Auto Burglary – 6900 block of Snowden Ave.
Sometime during the past three days, an unknown suspect shattered the rear passenger side window to the victim’s vehicle and stole a backpack.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle – Ramona Ave. at Ward Ave.
At 1:12 pm, a community service officer located an unoccupied 2001 Honda CRV which was reported stolen to the San Francisco PD on May 30th. The vehicle was towed and the victim was contacted.

July 2

Petty Theft – 1600 block of Liberty Street:
At 5:42 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed miscellaneous items.

Failure to Yield – San Pablo Avenue and Conlon Avenue:
At 7:48 pm, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic offense but the vehicle did not yield. The officer pursued the vehicle for a short distance, but discontinued the pursuit due to the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.

Drunk in Public – 10000 block of San Pablo Avenue:
At 9:09 pm, an officer reports the arrest of a 29-year-old male. The male banged on the door of a residence and stated he had a firearm. Officers contacted the male and determined he was too intoxicated to care for himself. The male was taken into custody and transported to the county jail.

Armed Robbery – 10600 block of San Pablo Avenue:
At 9:46 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered a business and put a gun to an employee’s back. The suspect demanded money and took the employee to the safe. Upon receiving money, the suspect fled.

July 3

Residential Burglary – 800 block Richmond St:
A community service officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim residence via a ground level window between 10:00 AM and 2:30 PM on 6/27/2019. The suspect stole a laptop, an Xbox console, and alcoholic beverages.

July 4

Residential Burglary / Possess Burglary Tools – 1700 block of Lexington Ave:
Officers responded to the report of a male in the secured parking garage of the condominium complex tampering with items. When the reporting party entered the garage he spooked the suspect, who then ran out through an exit door and jumped a fence. Officers arrived moments later to find a man exiting the driveway of the apartments just south of the building. The 35-year-old San Pablo man was detained while officers investigated. Officers discovered several bags and backpacks full of property and burglary tools that had been collected from areas throughout the garage and staged just inside the exit door. The man was booked and transported to the county jail.

Petty Theft – 11700 block of San Pablo Avenue:
At 8:11 pm, an officer reports the citizen’s arrest of a 50-year-old male from Richmond. The male was spotted at the rear of a business attempting to steal tires. The male was detained and then released with a citation.

July 5th

Vandalism – 10600 block of San Pablo Ave.
At 6:51 am, an unknown suspect shattered a window to the victim’s Jeep.

Auto Burglary – 7900 block of Cutting Blvd.
At 4:52 pm, the victim reports an unknown suspect shattered the front driver side window to their vehicle and rummaged through the interior. The incident occurred between 3:00 pm and 4:30 pm today.

July 6th

Residential Burglary – 6900 block of Fairmount Ave.
At 9:40 a.m., the victim came home and noticed her living room window was shattered, the interior of her home was ransacked, and her credit cards were stolen. The burglary occurred between Tuesday June 25th at 5:00 pm to Saturday July 6th at 9:30 am.

Auto Burglary – 800 block of Balra Dr.
At 9:46 a.m., the victim reports an unknown suspect shattered a window to the victim’s vehicle and stole $10 in change.

Vandalism – BART path at Fairmount Avenue:
A woman was placed under citizen’s arrest after she was observed spray painting on a cement wall along the BART path by a concerned resident. She was issued a citation for the crime and released.

July 7th

Warrant Arrest - Kearney St at Wall Ave. –
At 1:00 pm, an officer arrested a 62-year-old female for a domestic violence warrant. The female was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Assault – 5010 El Cerrito Plaza (Rubio’s):
Three juveniles were arrested after they all attacked another juvenile in front of Rubio’s. The victim sustained injuries and had to be transported to the hospital. All three of the juveniles were taken to Juvenile Hall in Martinez.
