Update: Police Activity on Pittman Ended, Suspect Safely in Custody

Update: 7/7/19 8:30pm: Following a three hour stand-off, one suspect was arrested in this incident.  He has been identified as 32 year old Rio Vista resident Matthew Vickers.

The incident started just before noon when Vickers was inside of a fast food restaurant.  A citizen saw him manipulating what appeared to be two firearms and called Fairfield Police.  As the police were responding, Vickers left the restaurant and went into a nearby convenience store.  Officers spoke to the convenience store clerk, who stated Vickers was acting suspiciously and went into the bathroom.  Officers made sure everyone was out of the store and tried to talk Vickers out of the bathroom.

Vickers would not come out, so the Crisis Negotiations Team and SWAT Team were called to the scene.  At 3pm, Vickers peacefully surrendered to the SWAT Team.  Further investigation revealed Vickers was in possession of two replica firearms.  Vickers was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail for resisting, obstructing, or delaying an officer.

A photo of the replica firearms is attached to this release.  A booking photo is not available.
