Flash Flood Watch until 10:00PM
The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of northeast West Virginia, including the following areas, Northwest Pocahontas, Northwest Randolph, Southeast Pocahontas, and Southeast Randolph.
* From noon EDT today through this evening
* Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and evening. These storms will be very slow moving, and could produce 1 to 2 inches of rain or more in a short period of time. This rainfall, combined with a nearly saturated wet ground, could result in flash flooding.
* Flooding of urban and poor drainage areas will be possible. In addition, flooding of small creeks and streams could occur People residing near creeks and streams should monitor the forecast and be prepared to take immediate action if flooding occurs.
* AFFECTED AREAS: SOUTHEAST RANDOLPH ... NORTHWEST RANDOLPH ... SOUTHEAST POCAHONTAS ... NORTHWEST POCAHONTAS
