Temperatures around 100 and moderate humidity levels will cause heat index temperatures to soar to dangerous levels during the hottest part of the day today. The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a Heat Advisory, which is in effect from noon today to 7 PM CDT this evening.

* TEMPERATURE...96 to 101 degrees.

* HEAT INDEX VALUES...106 to 111 degrees.

* IMPACTS...Heat exhaustion or stroke may set in if individuals and pets are not adequately cooled and/or hydrated. And always remember to check your vehicle
