While conducting proactive patrol near 1st Street and Avenue A, two suspects are arrested with suspected Fentanyl

INCIDENT: Transportation of Suspected Fentanyl
LOCATION: 12200 block of 1st St., Yucaipa
SUSPECTS: Carlos Ojeda, age 28 a resident of Yucaipa
Jennifer Iriarte, age 34 a transient
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, July 3rd, at approximately 8:51 am, Deputy A. Rosa was patrolling near 1st Street and Avenue A in response to resident's reports of suspected drug activity in the area. Deputy Rosa located a vehicle parked behind the Scherer Senior Center on I. Street with a vehicle code violation.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Carlos Ojeda. A records check on Ojeda revealed he was currently on felony probation for a prior stolen property charge. The passenger was identified as Jennifer Iriarte who was found to have multiple warrants for her arrest.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies located numerous hypodermic needles and several containers and packages containing approximately one ounce of suspected powdered Fentanyl, a powerful narcotic that can be lethal.
Ojeda was arrested and booked for transportation of narcotics (Fentanyl) and is being held of $50,000 bail. Ojeda may face additional charges for violating probation. Iriarte was arrested and booked on her warrants and is being held of $325,000 bail.
