Information on Denville's 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks Show.

The Township of Denville will be holding their annual 4th of July Celebration tomorrow night at Gardner Field. A live band, Street Hassle, will be performing from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. This will be followed by a fireworks show beginning at dusk, approximately 9:30p.m. As a result of the celebration, the following road closures and no parking restrictions will be in effect:

Road Closures:
- Franklin Road (northbound, towards Gardner Field) will be closed at Route 46, with all traffic having to turn onto either Route 46 east or west.
- St. Mary's Place will be closed to all traffic as soon as the parking lots for the Municipal Building and Riverview School are full
- Savage Road will be closed to all traffic between Franklin Road and Morris Avenue as soon as the parking lots at Gardner Field are full
- the Savage Road/Franklin Road jug handle from Route 46 west will close to all traffic as soon as pedestrian traffic becomes heavy

No Parking Restrictions for July 4th (both sides unless specified otherwise):
- Augusta Place
- Legion Place
- Frazer Road
- Forrest Trail
- Morris Avenue (from Savage Road to Morris Catholic High School)
- Savage Road
- Riverside Drive West
- Snyder Avenue
- St. Mary's Place
- East Shore Road (northbound side only - the side opposite the lake)

The road closures will remain in effect until such time that pedestrian traffic leaving Gardner Field has diminished to a level allowing for the safe movement of both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. It should be noted that anyone parking at Gardner Field, the Municipal Building and/or Riverview School may be delayed from leaving in their vehicle as a result.

The Denville Police Department would also like to remind everyone to leave the fireworks displays to the professionals. The possession or use of any type of exploding fireworks remains illegal in New Jersey and you will be subject to arrest or summons if found in possession of these types of fireworks. Sparklers, party poppers, snappers and similar non-exploding fireworks are legal to possess and use under New Jersey law (see attached image for additional information in identifying legal and illegal fireworks).

Please have a happy and safe holiday and we hope you enjoy the Township's 4th of July Celebration.
