July 4 Event in Houston to Replace Fireworks Show

Can we make Houston home to the valley's largest-ever squirt gun scuffle? Let's find out on Thursday from noon to 3pm!

We know that some people are bummed about the fact that there will be no fireworks show this July 4, and we appreciate you understanding why it is so. But who wants to stay cooped up inside their home on this holiday? In place of a fireworks show, we would like to invite you to the very first ever waterworks show instead.

There will be free bottles of ice cold water and a pool set up for kids to fill their water guns from (no swimming in the pool, sorry) sponsored by Gorilla Fireworks, fire truck demonstrations and hoses for the kids to play with sponsored by Houston Fire Department, and a bouncy house donated by Houston Grass Station, among many other activities. Parking will be near the fire station, but do not park in front of the fire station doors. A designated squirt gun area will be provided.

Feel free to pack a lunch and watch your kids enjoy the sun, and talk with firefighters about the ongoing burn permit suspension or other fire prevention topics.
