Narrative:
 
On June 29th 2019, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Gang Unit concluded a month long narcotic investigation into Stephen Monson, who was suspected of being involved in the sales of methamphetamine to residents in Ventura County.
 
Detectives contacted Monson and Racheal Fernandez near the 400 Block of Ventura Road, Oxnard. With the assistance of an Oxnard Police K-9 Unit and the Sheriff’s Special Crimes Unit, Detectives executed a signed search warrant on Monson, his vehicle and his residence, in the 500 Block of South E Street in the City of Oxnard. Detectives located Jacson Landaverde at the residence. Detectives seized approximately three pounds of methamphetamine, a small amount of heroin, digital scales, additional paraphernalia indicative of narcotic sales, ammunition, and a loaded firearm, as a result of the search warrant service.
 
Both Monson and Landaverde are documented gang-members and previously convicted felons. As a result of Monson and Landaverde’s previous criminal convictions they are prohibited from owning and/or possessing firearms and ammunition.
 
Monson was booked into at custody at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Main Jail facility for violations of HS 11378 – Possession for Sale of a Controlled Substance, PC 29800(a)(1)- Own/Possess/Control of a Firearm by a Felon, PC 30305(a)(1)- Possession of Ammunition by a Prohibited Person, and 11350 HS-Possession of a Controlled Substance. Monson remains in custody with bail set at $75,000.
 
Landaverde was booked into custody at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Main Jail facility for violations of HS 11364- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and HS 11377 – Possession of Methamphetamine. Landaverde was later released on his own recognizance.
 
Fernandez was booked into custody at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Main Jail facility for violation of HS 11550- Under the influence of a controlled substance. Fernandez was later released on her own recognizance.
