INCIDENT:  2019-15598  Attempted Suicide

LOCATION OCCURRED:  Princeton Junction Train Station

DETAILS:  Patrol was detailed to the Princeton Junction Train Station on the report of an individual who was cutting herself and in apparent emotional distress. Prior to patrol arriving, the individual jumped off of the platform and onto the train tracks and sat down. A Good Samaritan jumped down onto the tracks in an attempt to get the individual off the tracks, but she would not get up and he struggled against her weight. Ptl. Silcox arrived on scene first, jumped onto the tracks and along with the Good Samaritan started to carry her to safety but she remained limp. Ptl. LaRocca then jumped onto the tracks, relieved the Good Samaritan who was becoming fatigued, and both he and Ptl. Silcox carried the victim safely off the tracks. The 29 year old victim from North Brunswick was transported to Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center for a mental evaluation.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Buchanan investigated a two car crash involving a red Jeep driven by Raymond Perez that struck the rear of a Mercedes-Benz that was waiting to merge onto Old Trenton Rd. During the investigation, Perez was determined to be DWI. He was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Mahon was detailed to the Target store for a shoplifter being detained by Asset Protection. Investigation revealed that Jessica Lewis selected $253.41 worth of printer ink cartridges, Blu-ray discs, and various office supplies, concealed the items and left the store without paying. Lewis was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.

DATE & TIME OCCURRED:  Between 6/17/19 – 6/21/19
 
LOCATION OCCURRED:  Apartment located in Avalon Watch
 
OFFICER:  Ptl. M. Erkoboni #5102                     
 
DETAILS:  Ptl. Erkoboni investigated a Theft by Deception and check Forgery where the following occurred: The victim responded to a help wanted add posted on the Indeed.com job search website, and was “hired” to be a personal assistant by “Marcelino Arburua”. As part of her job, she was to receive checks which were to be deposited into her own personal account which she would then make disbursements from as requested by her “employer”. After receiving and depositing a check for $3,925.00, the victim as directed, purchased four U.S. Postal money orders totaling $3,300.00 which she sent to an address in Texas. A few days later, the check was determined to be fraudulent, and the victim held responsible for the purchases she made.

DATE & TIME OCCURRED:  6/25/19 - 6/26/19 between 11:30 PM & 5:30 AM.
 
LOCATION OCCURRED:  Residence near Berrien City
 
OFFICER:  Ptl. C. Abade #594                        
 
DETAILS:  Ptl. Abade investigated a burglary to a residence and the two unlocked vehicles parked in the driveway. Investigation determined the following: During the overnight hours, the house was entered through an unlocked, manually operated garage bay door that had been closed. Inside the house, a purse that was on the kitchen table had been opened and some its contents taken out. Another purse which had been hung on a  banister was found on the floor of the kitchen. The vehicles in the driveway had been searched, and from inside one of the unlocked vehicles was a wallet which contained cash that was taken.

Arrested: Jennifer L. Englander, White female, 33 years old

DETAILS:  Ptl. Abade was detailed to the Best Buy store for an employee being detained for theft. Investigation determined that Jennifer Englander, who was employed as a cashier, had taken cash from her register and put it into her purse on nine separate occasions over the course of several months. Englander was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS:  Sgt. Lai was detailed to a loud argument at the Princeton Junction Train Station. During the investigation, one of the involved parties, Johnny Andre, was found to have a warrant for his arrest from East Windsor for $750.00.  Andre was processed at WWPD Headquarters, and after bail was posted, he was released pending a future date at East Windsor Municipal Court.
