Flash Flood Watch until 07:00AM Tuesday

Showers and storms capable of producing very heavy rain are expected to occur along and north of the Interstate 90 corridor from late this afternoon into tonight. Hourly rainfall could exceed 2 inches per hour. With soils already saturated, the rain will quickly run off into area rivers and streams causing rapid rises and potential flooding. In addition, there could be flash flooding in urban areas and other flood prone areas. In bluff country, there will be the possibility of mud and rock slides. The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of central Wisconsin, southwest Wisconsin, and west central Wisconsin, including the following areas, in central Wisconsin, Adams, Clark, and Juneau. In southwest Wisconsin, Vernon. In west central Wisconsin, Buffalo, Jackson, La Crosse, Monroe, and Trempealeau.

* From 7 PM CDT this evening through Tuesday morning

* Thunderstorms with heavy rain are expected in the watch area tonight. Local areas that see repeated thunderstorms will be prone to rapid flooding.

* Urban flooding and rapid rises on creeks, streams, and rivers are all possible.

* Campers should know their escape routes if near flowing water.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BUFFALO ... LA CROSSE ... JUNEAU ... VERNON ... MONROE ... CLARK ... TREMPEALEAU ... ADAMS ... JACKSON
