Voluntary Security Camera Registration Program

The Bordentown City Police Department is looking to partner with the community in an effort to better investigate crime. We have instituted a Voluntary Security Camera Registration program. The program is designed to allow local residences and businesses who wish to aid the police department in investigating crime to register their surveillance systems with us in advance. This program is completely voluntary throughout the process. By registering your cameras it will allow us to quickly check our database for the area surrounding where a crime occurred to locate cameras that may have caught the act in progress. Once provided to us your footage will only be used for police purposes.

To join the program simply fill out the Voluntary Camera Registration form. The form is located on our website https://cityofbordentown.com/wp-content/uploads/Camera-Registration.pdf . Once completed you can email it to Special Officer Samantha Yerdon at [email protected] , fax it to (609) 298-6976, or drop it off in person. Once received the information you provided will be entered into a database for police purposes only. If a crime occurs in the area of your home you will be contacted and asked if you could work with the officer investigating the crime to aid in obtaining any available footage. The Police Department will not have access to your system without your permission and will not be live monitoring any video.

Once again, this program is completely voluntary and you may withdraw from the program at any time. Should you have any additional questions please contact Ptl. Ryan Lynch at [email protected].
