The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Ocean County in southern New Jersey... East central Camden County in southern New Jersey... Northeastern Burlington County in southern New Jersey... Southern Monmouth County in central New Jersey...

* Until 545 PM EDT.

* At 504 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Presidential Lakes Estates, or 18 miles west of Toms River, moving east at 20 mph. This replaces the previous severe thunderstorm warning in effect for the area. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include... Toms River, Lakewood, Jackson, Barnegat, Beachwood, Tabernacle, Shamong, Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach, Presidential Lakes Estates, Seaside Heights, Lakehurst, Pemberton, Surf City, Wrightstown, Mantoloking, Allenwood, Atsion, Six Flags Theme Park and Leisuretowne.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CAMDEN, NJ ... MONMOUTH, NJ ... OCEAN, NJ ... BURLINGTON, NJ

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. In addition to large hail and damaging winds, frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
