Deputies investigate a burglary at Highland Market - suspect located & arrested and all property recovered

INCIDENT: PC 459 - Commercial Burglary
LOCATION: 25400 of 9th Street, Highland
SUSPECT: George Brewer, 65 years old male resident of Highland
VICTIM: Highland Market
SUMMARY:
On June 27, 2019, at approximately 4:28 a.m. Deputies J. Hernandez and T. Houn, responded to an audible alarm at the Highland Market. Once deputies arrived on scene, they noticed the locks to the main front security door had been cut and the glass door had been pried and forced opened. Once inside, the unknown suspect had ransacked the inside of the market and stolen several items. During the investigation, deputies determined the suspect was wearing brown or dark clothing, a dark jacket and light green camo backpack.
As Deputy Hernandez was leaving the scene, he observed a male subject riding his bicycle in the area. The male matched the description of the suspect from the burglary. Deputy Hernandez contacted the subject and identified him as George Brewer. Brewer was found to have an active misdemeanor warrant issued for his arrest. During a search of Brewer's backpack, Deputy Hernandez located all the property which was stolen during the burglary at the Highland Market.
Brewer was subsequently arrested for charge PC 459 - Commercial Burglary and booked into Central Detention Center.
