Deputies arrest 5 subjects for conspiring to collect money for a fake funeral

SUSPECT(S): Larry Padilla, 21 years old, resident of San Bernardino
Francisco Saldana, 21 years old, resident of San Bernardino
Adrian Martinez, 22 years old, resident of San Bernardino
Tero Weston, 28 years old, resident of Loma Linda
Sergio Vidaca, 32 years old, resident of Rialto
SUMMARY:
On June 26, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a call of aggressive panhandlers at the intersection of Barton Rd. and Mt. Vernon Ave. in Grand Terrace. The suspects were holding large signs with a picture of an infant indicating they were collecting funds for a funeral for ‘Baby Jacob”.
The investigation revealed the infant in the photo was not deceased and the suspects conspired to collect money from passing motorists who were willing to donate toward the alleged funeral. Approximately $500. was seized from the suspects.
