The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Small Stream Flood Advisory for... Northeastern Livingston County in central Illinois... Southwestern Will County in northeastern Illinois... Southeastern Grundy County in northeastern Illinois... Western Kankakee County in northeastern Illinois... North central Ford County in east central Illinois... Central Iroquois County in east central Illinois... Central Benton County in northwestern Indiana...

* Until 230 AM CDT/330 AM EDT/.

* At 1229 AM CDT/129 AM EDT/, Doppler radar indicated very heavy rain due to thunderstorms across portions of the advisory area. This will cause small stream flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Kankakee, Bourbonnais, Bradley, Watseka, Dwight, Fowler, Stockland, Barce, Freeland Park, Wadena, Lochiel, Braidwood, Coal City, Diamond, Herscher, Clifton, Gardner, Milford, St. Anne and Chebanse.

* AFFECTED AREAS: FORD, IL ... BENTON, IN ... IROQUOIS, IL ... KANKAKEE, IL ... LIVINGSTON, IL ... WILL, IL ... GRUNDY, IL

Instructions:

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
