POLICE URGE PEOPLE TO SIGN UP FOR NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
Modesto, CA – The Modesto Police Department is urging people to sign up to participate in National Night Out block parties.
National Night Out is Tuesday, August 4th, and it is the biggest crime prevention event of the year. The deadline to submit block party entry forms is July 16th. Last year, over 7,000 Modesto residents participated in National Night Out by attending 243 parties hosted throughout the city.
National Night Out is designed to:
• Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
• Generate support for local anti-crime programs such as Neighborhood Watch
• Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
• Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back
National Night Out block parties are well known for good food, getting to know your neighbors, and visits from members of the Modesto Police Department.
