On Saturday, June 15, 2019, the Turlock Police Department was advised of an alleged domestic violence incident which had occurred on June 14, 2019, in the 4600 block of Visions Dr. An investigation resulted in the identification of the victim (Identity is confidential per law) and the involved, identified as Erik Newman (52 year old) from Stockton.

As the investigation progressed, attempts were made to locate and speak to Newman, however, these were unsuccessful. On June 20, 2019, the investigation had developed sufficient probable cause to seek the arrest of Newman for violation of Corporal Injury to a Spouse or Cohabitant, California Penal Code 273.5, a felony.

Newman was arrested in Stockton on June 20, 2019, with the assistance of Stockton Police Department. Turlock Police Detectives responded to Stockton and took custody of Newman, who was then booked into Stanislaus County Jail.
