DETAILS:  At 2:06 pm on Sunday, June 16, 2019, Patrol Units were initially detailed to a residence in the hamlet of Edinburg on the report of a stolen vehicle.  Upon arrival, patrol units met with the caller and her sister who were visiting the residence of their father (who recently passed away).  Upon their arrival, they discovered one of their father’s vehicles, a 2008 BMW, was missing from the driveway.  In addition, it appeared that someone had broken into the rear door of the residence.  While awaiting Patrol’s response, the BMW pulled into the driveway.  The vehicle was occupied by (2) individuals, later identified as Carl R. Lawrence and Jacquelin A. Bitonti.  A discussion between the sisters & Lawrence and Bitonti ensued.  Lawrence and Bitonti advised the sisters they had outstanding warrants and didn’t like the police.  Lawrence and Bitonti quickly entered into the rear door of the residence and secured the door behind them.
The caller gave permission to K9 Officer Montgomery, K9 Mackey, & Ptl. Nagy to enter the dwelling and extract Lawrence & Bitonti.  K9 Mackey guided K9 Officer Montgomery and Ptl. Nagy to the attic where Lawrence & Bitonti were trying their best to hide.  Lawrence & Bitonti were taken into custody without any further resistance.
Both Lawrence & Bitonti had outstanding warrants and were both NCIC “Hits” from Mercer County Sheriff’s Office. Lawrence & Bitonti were both transported to the Mercer County Workhouse after processing at WWPD Headquarters.
