Police seek the public's help in locating man with dementia
Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Gregory McGill, 56, of Cranford, who was reported missing today in Newark.
At approximately 9 a.m., a family member dropped McGill off at a residence in the 500 block of Elizabeth Avenue, but he has not been seen since that time. McGill, who suffers from dementia, is described as 6’5” tall and 260 lbs. He has a light brown complexion and a bald head. He was last seen wearing a dark colored baseball cap, blue jeans, blue shoes, blue jacket and glasses.
While police are actively searching for Mr. McGill, we seek the public’s help in quickly locating him and returning him to his family.
Director Ambrose urges anyone with information about the whereabouts of Gregory McGill to call the Department's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477) or 1-877-NWK-GUNS (1-877-695-4867). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
